Bruges
Well I don't have too much to write about Bruges, I think its better to show you with pictures. The first day, saturday was the trip with my art class. It was really cold walking around outside. We went to a really nice art museum where we had to hold things up to our ears to hear about the paintings..it was a relief not to have to hear my teacher talk. ha ha. I also had to give my speach about midevial women and religion......it went pretty well and I'm just glad its done. Then all 15 Lafayette kids stayed over. The hostel was not quite as nice as Gent but it was still decent. The next day we went to a musuem, ate, bought chocolat, and just explored the city. I think my favorite part was climbing the belfry. I posted some pictures from the top. The view was great. Even though Bruges was really touristy (its their main industry there) it was still a fun weekend.
Pics: The belfry ; Matt giving his speach on Midieval guils ; the town hall ; view ; megan and I ; a tower ; swans ; hostel room ; carriage in front of the main square ; view from part way up the belfry ; view from top of belfry ; bell, wow was it loud, we were up there for noon and their was this crazy bell symphony but then the large bell tolled 12 times and it shook the whole tower, it was so loud ; cloudy view ; Springfield?

Bail,
I love the picture through the window grate. Some of the pictures seemed a little dark. Are you sure the camera is set on auto? Where are you off to this weekend?
Dad (Douglas Simone)
Also, was it planned that her sweater would match the wall paint?

Hi Bailey,
It seems like you're having a really good time! The pictures are so beautiful, I must admit I'm jealous. I bet the chocolate is simply amazing as well...lucky you!! I'm finally done with all my college applications. I'll have to let you know once I receive the decisions.
Talk to you soon,
Dana
Hey dana that's great. Doesn't it feel like such a relief to have all the applications all sent out? If not then it should feel that way. I'll be excited to hear where you choose. I'm glad your enjoying the pictures, and yes the chocolat is even better than your probably thinking it is. I swear i wasn't a chocolat person before I came here and now i crave it. My dad will love it when he comes here.
Good luck with everything and enjoy the rest of your senior year!
Bailey
